The Organisation
The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Program Manager is responsible for timely delivery of quality outputs and outcomes under the GPE Accelerated Fund - a new program implemented by the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) in partnership with Save the Children that aims to support education recovery in Vanuatu following the dual crises of TC Harold and COVID19.
The Position
The Program Manager will be accountable to the MoET Senior Management Team with dual reporting to Save the Children, the GPE Grant Agent. The Program Manager will be responsible for the following day-to-day management, planning and reporting tasks corresponding to the implementation of all the program components as well as the fiduciary and safeguard compliance.
Contract Period: For 12 months with possible extension
Essential Selection Criteria
► Degree in project management, business administration, education or related field
► Prior project management experience in an education project management role in a development context and / or academic position
► Experience in project appraisal, management of project budgets and excellent report writing skills
► The ability to effectively coordinate resources and drive outcomes
► Sound familiarity with the education environment at national and provincial level with an understanding of the Vanuatu education system at both national and provincial levels
► Ability to produce timely and high-quality written work and meet tight deadlines in high pressure environment
► Fluency in Bislama and English. Knowledge of French is desirable
► A willingness to travel to provincial locations within Vanuatu
