The Organisation
Governance for Growth (GfG) works on some of Vanuatu’s biggest reform priorities.
GfG is governed by a Board of Vanuatu Government Director Generals and funded by the Australian Government. We work from within government systems, alongside central agencies, on reforms that can change how government operates and create opportunities for people - from bringing decisions and services closer to communities, to modernising public finances, improving planning and taking government services
online.

The Position
Reporting to the Manager - Operations & Strategy, the Senior Operations Specialist takes responsibility for delivering day-to-day operations across recruitment and HR administration, procurement and contracts, travel and mobilisation, office, fleet and asset management, and ICT coordination.
This is a hands-on role requiring substantial operational experience, sound judgement and strong follow-through. You will manage competing priorities, complete operational processes from start to finish, resolve problems and maintain accurate records and approvals.
You will also support the Manager - Operations & Strategy to improve systems and procedures, helping the team deliver efficient and reliable operational services.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Operational experience: Substantial relevant experience delivering services across several operational functions, including procurement and contract administration, and areas such as recruitment and HR administration, travel and logistics, or office and asset management.
► Independent delivery and judgement: Demonstrated ability to plan and complete operational processes from start to finish, manage competing deadlines, resolve problems and identify matters requiring management decisions.
► Compliance and records: Experience applying operational procedures, coordinating approvals, maintaining accurate and confidential records, and tracking contractual and administrative requirements.
► Systems and improvement: Strong practical skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams, and experience using business systems. Demonstrated ability to identify practical improvements and help implement agreed changes.
► Communication and relationships: Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, advisers, government counterparts, suppliers and service providers, including following up outstanding actions and resolving delays.
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Relevant qualifications in business administration, management, human resources, procurement, logistics, project support or a related field.
► Experience working in Vanuatu government, donor-funded programs, development organisations or professional service environments.
► A valid driver’s license.
