The Organisation

The Vanuatu Christian Council (VCC) is the national umbrella organization of Vanuatu Christian Churches. It seek to maintain a unified prophetic voice for the nation and to empower member churches to address to address community issues.


The Position

The Finance and Logistics Officer extends support and works in the areas of normative assistance, advocacy, community awareness and programming. The role involves facilitating the work of the VCC, while also supporting gender-based priorities to be effectively mainstreamed across Vanuatu.


The Finance and Logistics officer works under the overall supervision of the Gender Manager. He/she works in close collaboration with the programme and operations team at VCC, as well as partners and stakeholders including VCC member churches, UN Women, Vanuatu Women’s Centre, Department of Women’s Affairs and other government bodies, communities and the civil society, ensuring successful representation of the VCC in Vanuatu. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate and reliable accounting and financial systems for VCC which can monitor the project’s financial situation, and enable accurate tracking of expenditure and timely reporting to donors.


The role also has an impact on the overall effectiveness and success of “Ending Violence (EVAWG) programs in safeguarding the mobilization of official personnel, timely delivery of program assets, equipment and related materials.


The Finance and Logistics Officer as part of the Gender team, may from time to time lead the roll out of the overall efforts of the VCC to support the elimination of violence against women and girls (EVAWG), the full realization of women’s rights as well as opportunities that may be presented at the grassroots and community level in Pentecost.


Essential Selection Criteria

► Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, public administration, management or associated fields

► Minimum of two years’ work experience in a development or humanitarian context

► Have worked in the areas of finance, accounting and/or logistics
