The Organisation
The Vanuatu Institute of Technology (VIT), the country’s biggest Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Institute has the primary purpose as the center of excellence for public technical, vocational, business, hospitality, and continuing education in Vanuatu, contributing to the economic and social development of all its islands and citizens.
The Vanuatu Institute of Technology (VIT) is seeking suitably qualified and experienced trainers to commence in March 2026. Trainers will be responsible for facilitating and delivering VIT courses in line with Vanuatu Qualifications Authority (VQA) standards and the Vanuatu Institute of Technology Quality Management System (VIT QMS).
The Position
The Trainer delivers and assesses the Level 4 Hospitality & Travel Services Management program. The role prepares learners for roles in:
Front office operations
Customer service leadership
Travel booking and reservations
Tourism and hospitality business functions
Service management
Travel documentation and itinerary planning
The Trainer ensures graduates meet VQA competency standards and are job-ready for hospitality, tourism, and travel organisations.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Diploma in Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, or related area
► Minimum 10 years professional experience in hospitality, travel, tourism, or customer service leadership roles
► Knowledge of reservation systems, guest communication, and service management
► High-level communication and customer service capability
► Ability to teach both travel and hospitality concepts and strong IT and reservation system skills
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Teaching Qualification: VET Certificate IV
► Experience in training or mentoring is an advantage
