The Organisation
The Vanuatu Institute of Technology (VIT), the country’s biggest Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Institute has the primary purpose as the center of excellence for public technical, vocational, business, hospitality, and continuing education in Vanuatu, contributing to the economic and social development of all its islands and citizens.
The Vanuatu Institute of Technology (VIT) is seeking suitably qualified and experienced trainers to commence in March 2026. Trainers will be responsible for facilitating and delivering VIT courses in line with Vanuatu Qualifications Authority (VQA) standards and the Vanuatu Institute of Technology Quality Management System (VIT QMS).
The Position
The Trainer will deliver, assess, and evaluate Level II in Building Construction training programs in compliance with VQA requirements and the VIT Quality Management System (QMS). The role ensures learners develop essential carpentry, masonry, construction site procedures, and safety competencies aligned with the building construction industry.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Certificate 3 in Building Construction
► Minimum 8 years experience in building construction or related trades
► Strong practical skills in carpentry, masonry, construction tools, and building practices.
► Strong communication, organisation, and classroom management abilities.
► Digital literacy including Microsoft Office and training systems.
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Teaching Qualification: VET Certificate 4
► Experience in competency-based training delivery
► Experience working with TVET youth or adult learners
