The Organisation

Save the Children is the world's largest independent child rights development organisation, making a difference to the children's lives in more than 100 countries. From emergency relief to long-term development, Save the Children secures a child's right to health, education and protection.


The Position

The Program Officer will support Save the Children’s work in Vanuatu and is responsible for implementation of program activities in communities in Sanma Province and will work within a small team to build community, government and other key stakeholders understanding of Save the Children’s programming will represent Save the Children in all local meetings.


The Program Officer will report directly to the Luganville-based Program Coordinator and work collaboratively with the Port Vila-based Program Manager. The position is a full time role for 6-12 months, depending on the length of the program contract.


Essential Selection Criteria

► Minimum of Senior-Secondary School Qualification required

► Minimum two (2) years of experience in a relevant position

► Broad experience in community mobilisation, Community Support Organisations or NGO's and similar activities

► Driver's license required

► Fluency in Bislama as well as intermediate knowledge of English is required

► Good reporting skills

► Able to work proficiently with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

► Committed, honest and eager to learn

► Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully with a wide range of people
