The Organisation

The Position

The Managing Director is responsible for overseeing the management of all facets of the banking services at NBV Ltd to ensure it is financially sound in terms of its Capital Adequacy, Asset Quality, Management’s ability to run the bank’s daily operations, its Earnings, Liquidity and Sensitivity. This includes providing effective leadership and management of the NBV Limited, to deliver commercial, retail, and rural based financial products and services which meet the needs of the people of Vanuatu, provides a competitive return to the shareholder, and to ensure the Board endorsed Strategic Plan and objectives are implemented and achieved. It also oversees the bank’s project and internal audit business unit functions.


Essential Selection Criteria

► Masters Degree in one or more of the following disciplines (Accounting, Commerce, Economics or Law, Business Administration, or related fields)

► 15 years Commercial Banking experience

► 10 years Managing Director role experience

► 5 - 10 years Senior Management Experience

► 5 - 10 years extensive knowledge and experience in the management of a commercial, retail, rural banking and financial inclusion operations, risk assessment and management of international and local regulatory matters

► Manage compliance to Fit & Proper Criteria and AML/CTF Act, & Reserve Bank of Vanuatu Prudential Guidelines & Company’s Act.

► Excellent professional leadership skills and ability to train & manage staff of large institution

► Sound communication skills and culturally aware & team focused

► Empathetic with positive attitude, good character, and integrity

► Strategic thinker and innovator and demonstrated experience in complex analytical problem solving & investigative skills

► Team player and ability to work under pressure

► Passions to provide Quality Customer Care & Service to clients and shareholders

► Excellent networking & people skills

► Goal driven with desire to exceed goals
