The Organisation
The Vanuatu Australia Policing and Justice Program (VAPJP) is a collaborative initiative between the Governments of Vanuatu and Australia, aimed at strengthening law enforcement and justice institutions to improve safety, security, and access to justice.
The Position
The Procurement and Administration Officer will support the Vanuatu Australia Policing and Justice Program (VAPJP) finance and administration across both the Policing and Justice streams of the program. The role will be responsible for program’s procurement processes and ensuring efficient administration support. The role involves sourcing and procuring goods and services in a cost-effective and timely manner, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR) and VAPJP procurement policies. Additionally, the officer supports general administrative functions, including office management, record keeping, and coordinating logistical and operational tasks to ensure smooth day to day running and delivery of program activities.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Diploma or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
► At least 3 years of experience in procurement, finance and administration roles, preferably in development programs or international NGOs.
► Familiarity with financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
► Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
► Tact and negotiation skills.
► Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing procurement processes.
► Ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines.
► Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
► Demonstrated experience and skills in all aspects of office administration procedures and logistics management.
► Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and ability to work independently
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Experience working in donor-funded programs, particularly DFAT-funded initiatives
► Knowledge of Vanuatu's financial and procurement environment
► Drivers license for general motor vehicle
