The Organisation
The Vanuatu Institute of Technology (VIT), the country’s biggest Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Institute has the primary purpose as the center of excellence for public technical, vocational, business, hospitality, and continuing education in Vanuatu, contributing to the economic and social development of all its islands and citizens.
The Vanuatu Institute of Technology (VIT) is seeking suitably qualified and experienced trainers to commence in March 2026. Trainers will be responsible for facilitating and delivering VIT courses in line with Vanuatu Qualifications Authority (VQA) standards and the Vanuatu Institute of Technology Quality Management System (VIT QMS).
The Position
The Hospitality Trainer 2 (Customer Service) delivers, assesses, and evaluates the Certificate II in Hospitality (Customer Service) in accordance with VQA standards and VIT QMS.
The role ensures students develop essential customer-facing skills for hospitality environments including communication, complaint handling, service etiquette, reservation management, interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and service quality.
The trainer prepares learners for roles in front-of-house, reception, concierge, guest relations, food service, and customer support.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Certificate III in Hospitality (Customer Service)
► Minimum 8 years experience in customer service roles in hospitality, hotels, tourism, or service sectors.
► Strong understanding of customer service standards, guest interaction, and service recovery techniques.
► Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer-handling skills.
► Strong teaching and facilitation capabilities with the ability to motivate students and create a positive learning environment.
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Teaching Qualification: VET Certificate IV
► Experience training or supervising staff
