The Organisation

The Pacific Recovery Economic Support (PRES) program of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) draws upon technical advisory services and surge resources to support engagement across the Pacific region. PRES delivers program management, strategy, design and M&E services, as well as a full suite of technical expertise across the following sectors; economic and fiscal governance; financial sector; private sector development; trade and investment; labour mobility and education; agriculture and food security; aviation and tourism; digital economy and telecommunications. Adam Smith International (ASI) is contracted by DFAT to deliver PRES.

The Position

The Program Officer shall:

Support the mobilisation of advisors (organisation of visa, confirmation of in-country travel, engagement with ASI’s travel provider) to arrange flights and accommodation to Vanuatu.

Provide coordination and logistics support, including coordinating engagement and meetings between advisors and GoV and DFAT and other stakeholders.

Contribute to program monitoring, reporting and analysis required by PRES, including collating information from advisors on monthly progress, and contributing to quarterly reports and budget tracking, as required.

Support other ASI projects as required."

Essential Selection Criteria

► Relevant degree qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience and understanding of contemporary aid management approaches and systems, research and analysis.

► A minimum of 1-2 years’ relevant program coordination, logistics experience, preferably on an aid donor activity.

► Demonstrated understanding of aid program monitoring and reporting, and experience in data analysis and reporting

► Understanding of the social, cultural, political and institutional factors affecting development in Vanuatu.

► Ability to work independently, while adhering to the requirements of the Terms of Reference.

Desirable Selection Criteria

► Excellent interpersonal, communication and cross-cultural skills, including the ability to convey concepts clearly and to understand and meet the needs of a range of stakeholders.

► Commitment to inclusive development and gender equality

► Strong oral and written communication skills in English
