Palladium is the Managing Contractor for the Vanuatu Australia Policing and Justice Program (VAPJP), which is a long-standing and integral part of Australia’s support to Vanuatu, delivering policing and justice sector support. The Program is supporting the Government of Vanuatu (GoV) to respond to challenges to the maintenance of security and the rule of law; and building longer-term capability to provide the justice, community and policing services needed by communities.


VAPJP entered its second 4-year phase (2021-2024) in January 2021.

The Position

The Finance and Administration Assistant will support the Vanuatu Australia Policing and Justice Program (VAPJP), Finance& Administration Officers, Program Coordinators and Senior Manager across both the Policing and Justice streams of the VAPJP. On a day-to-day basis they will ensure that all financial management and tracking of activities implemented under the program adhere to Palladium policies and processes and comply with Vanuatu law. The Finance and Administration Assistant will also be responsible for tasks related to office administration, logistics, and procurement.

Essential Selection Criteria

► Certificate Level 4 or equivalent relevant experience in accounting / financial / administration practice

► Demonstrated experience in a similar role conducting financial management processes under supervision

► Demonstrated experience and skills in all aspects of office administration procedures

► Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing procurement processes

► Ability to work effectively as an individual and team member

► Highly computer literate including practical experience of MS Office packages including MS Excel (advanced), Outlook and Word

► Good communication, time management, and organizational skills

► Ability to communicate well with a diverse range of people from Government, non-Government, and donor agencies

Desirable Selection Criteria

► Education and/or experience in Finance & Administration, Procurement and Purchasing, and Proficiency in electronic accounting suites
