The Organisation

Save the Children is the world's largest independent child rights development organisation, making a difference to the children's lives in more than 100 countries. From emergency relief to long-term development, Save the Children secures a child's right to health, education and protection.

The Position

The Director of Program Implementation is responsible to ensure timely and quality delivery of the planned projects and programs. S/he will be held accountable for all aspects of program implementation and field operations including administrative, project related procurement and supplies, financial and quality reporting requirements. The role includes representational responsibilities with key government ministries and non-governmental stakeholders. Recruitment of this role is subject to funding confirmation.

Essential Selection Criteria

► Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant and related discipline in social and international development

► At least 7 years of senior program management or operations management experience, including experience in directing and implementing programs for children in both emergency and development contexts

► Demonstrated experience training and upskilling program and field management staff and in the management and development of diverse teams of national and international professional staff

► Substantial knowledge / experience in humanitarian response and development program implementation

Desirable Selection Criteria

► Fluency in English and Bislama essential. French fluency is desirable

► Highly developed relationship building, negotiation and interpersonal skills including with national government personnel and development partners

► Substantial knowledge of financial management and budgetary control

► Drivers Licence
