● Governance for Growth (GfG) is looking for a Principal Policy Coordinator- Monitoring, Learning & Analysis to join its small, government-facing team in Port Vila.
● Contract full-time position Vanuatu Citizens only
● Based in Port Vila
The Organisation
Governance for Growth (GfG) is an Australian Government–funded initiative delivered in partnership with the Government of Vanuatu (GoV). It supports practical reforms that strengthen public institutions, improve service delivery, and promote economic participation.
The Position
The Principal Policy Coordinator – Monitoring, Learning & Analysis leads GfG’s internal monitoring, learning and analysis function, ensuring the program generates and uses timely evidence to support delivery, decision-making and reporting.
The role focuses on strengthening internal performance and learning systems, supporting reflection and adaptation across the program, and ensuring that monitoring and analysis are practical, proportionate and directly connected to reform delivery. The role works closely with the MERL Specialist, managers and Principal Policy Coordinators to ensure GfG remains agile, evidence-informed and results-focused.
Essential Selection Criteria
► A tertiary qualification in economics, public policy, development studies, statistics or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
► Demonstrated experience in monitoring, evaluation, analysis, public policy or program delivery roles.
► Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret data and generate practical insights.
► Ability to translate data, evidence and experience into clear findings and actionable recommendations.
► Sound judgement and ability to think strategically and politically in complex institutional environments, including using evidence and analysis to inform practical decision-making and reform progress.
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Commitment to supporting the development of Vanuatu, including understanding of local context and a willingness to work through government systems.
► Willingness to learn, adapt and support continuous improvement in program performance.
► Experience working in or with government systems, or in the Pacific context, is highly desirable.
► Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively across teams and with Government counterparts.
