● Governance for Growth (GfG) is looking for a Finance Officer to join its small, government-facing team in Port Vila.
● Contract full-time position open to Vanuatu Citizens only
● Based in Port Vila
The Organisation
Governance for Growth (GfG) is an Australian Government–funded initiative delivered in partnership with the Government of Vanuatu (GoV). It supports practical reforms that strengthen public institutions, improve service delivery, and promote economic participation.
The Position
The Finance Officer supports the Manager – Operations & Strategy and the GfG management team in maintaining effective financial, procurement and internal control systems across the program.
The role is responsible for day-to-day financial processing, budget tracking, procurement support, reconciliations and financial record keeping. The Finance Officer works under direction to ensure financial processes are accurate, compliant and support efficient program delivery.
Essential Selection Criteria
► A certificate, diploma or degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
► At least 2-4 years' experience in finance, accounting or financial administration roles.
► Experience in working with financial systems (eg. NetSuite or similar), including processing payments, reconciliations and maintaining financial records.
► Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and follow up effectively in a fast-paced environment.
► Understanding of basic accounting and financial management processes, including budgeting, reporting and internal controls.
