The Organisation
Vanuatu Post Ltd is a state-owned company which has its mandated obligation to deliver accessible and postal services throughout Vanuatu at a common standard and rate.
The Position
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for overseeing daily, monthly, and annual financial controls, ensuring timely and accurate reporting aligned with the company’s accounting standards and financial policies.
This position is a Senior Executive Position responsible to the CEO, and consists of analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to determine or maintain a record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, cash flow, payroll administration, or other financial and accounting activities within the organization. While the primary emphasis at present is finance and accounting this will expand to include management of projects as be required. This position may be required to act as CEO in CEO’s absence.
Essential Selection Criteria
► 5+ years experience in management and importantly some experience in CFO role.
► Bachelor's degree in financial accounting, financial management, and/or Economics
► Proven track record in financial planning, budgets and corporate management
► Demonstrated ability to lead teams to achieve results
► Knowledge and track record in completing a company annual financial statement
► Ability to prepare and interpret financial reports and ratios.
► Ability to prepare Strategic Plan and its implementation and reporting
► Good knowledge of accrual accounting.
► Inclusion in decision making when applicable.
► Strong commitment to work.
► Ability to meet deadline in busy environment
► Ability to accept additional responsibilities
► Experience in AML compliance Management
► Ability to develop and organize staff training.
► Staff performance appraisal experience
► Good knowledge of information technology
► Ability to manage information
► Experience in process improvements
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Good understanding of projects formulation, execution and impact assessment
► Proven experience in cost accounting and costing out new projects
► Outstanding communication skills in Bislama or English, with French as an advantage.
► Driver's License
