The Organisation
The Vanuatu Australia Policing and Justice Program (VAPJP) is a collaborative initiative between the Governments of Vanuatu and Australia, aimed at strengthening law enforcement and justice institutions to improve safety, security, and access to justice for all members of the Vanuatu community.
The Position
The Administrative Officer provides comprehensive administrative, and logistical support to ensure the efficient operation of the VAPJP Police component. This dynamic and varied role requires a highly organised, resourceful, and flexible individual capable of managing competing priorities while maintaining strict adherence to VAPJP and AFP policies and procedures. The position supports program implementation through support to administration, procurement, travel arrangements, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Office operations, administration support and/or Executive Assistant experience.
► Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow processes precisely.
► Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
► Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and prioritise competing demands.
► Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
► Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams and external stakeholders.
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Diploma in Business Administration, or related field.
► Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar administrative role, ideally within a development or donor-funded program.
► Familiarity with Commonwealth Procurement Rules and donor (e.g., DFAT) compliance requirements.
► Understanding of GoV policies and administrative procedures
► Fluency in English, Bislama or French language skills are an advantage
