The Position

The Education in Emergencies Program Manager is responsible for timely delivery of quality outputs and outcomes under the Global Partnership for Education Accelerated Fund – a new program implemented by the MoET in partnership with Save the Children that aims to support education recovery in Vanuatu following the dual crises of TC Harold and COVID19. In conjunction with MoET. the Program Manager, will be accountable to the MoET SMT with dual reporting to Save the Children, the GPE Grant Agent. The PM will be responsible for the following day-to-day management, planning and reporting tasks corresponding to the implementation of all the program components as well as the fiduciary and safeguard compliance.

Essential Selection Criteria

► Post-graduate qualifications in Education, Social Sciences, International Development, Business Management or a similar area

► A minimum of Ten (10) years’ experience and familiarity with Government operations and procedures

► Strong project management skills training and certification and demonstrated experience in managing complex projects with multiple partners especially government agencies, private learning institutions and government line ministries

► Good familiarity with the education environment and primary education coalitions at national and international level with an understanding of the Vanuatu education system at both national and provincial levels

Desirable Selection Criteria

► Experience working in the Pacific

► Knowledge of Bislama and/or French

► A willingness to travel to provincial locations within Vanuatu

► Drivers licence
