● Contract full-time position open to Vanuatu citizens only

● Based in Port Vila with travel to the islands

The Organisation

The Vanuatu Secondary Education Support Project is seeking Vanuatu nationals to assist in the design of New Zealand Aid Programme’s support for secondary education in Vanuatu.

This is a project that will support equitable participation in quality learning for young people in Vanuatu and involves taking a co-design and collaborative approach to provide a comprehensive design of the New Zealand Aid Programme’s activity for Vanuatu’s secondary education support.

A co-design approach involves engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders (e.g. students, teachers, families, community leaders, officials, NGOs, and individuals in different islands across Vanuatu) through interactive events and interviews. This allows the project team to understand lived experiences from different perspectives.

Organisations involved in this project include Creative HQ, AATEA solutions, Robert Walters Consulting, and two Australia-based independent consultants.

The Position

The Project Officer (x2) is responsible for the development and delivery of co-design activities, based on the guidance from the Project Manager and the New Zealand-based project team. They will conduct interviews, develop and organise workshops and events to gather insights from a wide range of stakeholders, including students and community representatives. They will be responsible for transcribing, translating, analysing and reporting the findings from these activities.

They may also be expected to travel outside Port Vila during a particular phase of the project to support interviews, events and stakeholder engagement.

The substantive work will begin in April 2021 and it is expected to conclude by June 2022.

This project offers great professional development opportunities. The successful candidate will receive full training on co-design, design thinking and other facilitation techniques.
