The Organisation

The Vanuatu Australia Policing and Justice Program (VAPJP) is a long-standing and integral part of Australia’s aid investments in Vanuatu, delivering policing and justice sector support. It has a hybrid modality and a joint management approach between Palladium, as Managing Contractor for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), and the Australian Federal Police (AFP). The current phase of the program will conclude on 31 December 2024.


The Position

The Finance and Administration Assistant will support the Vanuatu Australia Policing and Justice Program (VAPJP), Program Coordinators and Senior Manager across both the Policing and Justice streams of the VAPJP. On a day to day basis they will ensure that all financial management and tracking of activities implemented under the program adhere to Palladium policies and processes and comply with Vanuatu law. The Finance and Administration Assistant will also be responsible for tasks related to office administration, logistics, and procurement.


Essential Selection Criteria

► Education and / or experience in the following is highly desirable: Finance and Administration; Procurement and Purchasing; Proficiency in electronic accounting packages

► Demonstrated experience in a similar role conducting financial management processes under supervision

► Demonstrated experience and skills in all aspects of office administration procedures

► Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing procurement processes

► Ability to work effectively as an individual and team member

► Highly computer literate including practical experience of MS Office packages including MS Excel (advanced), Outlook and Word

► Good time management and organisational skills

► Ability to communicate well with a diverse range of people from Government, non-Government, and donor agencies

► English and Bislama fluency essential; French desirable
