AVL invites applications from suitably qualified, skilled and experienced professionals to fill the position of Supervisor Maintenance- Port Vila
The Position
The Supervisor Maintenance- Port Vila is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all maintenance activities to ensure a safe, efficient and continuous operation of airport infrastructure and facilities at the Port Vila International Airport. This job involves challenging tasks and a significant amount of responsibility.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Certificate IV -Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent education and related work experience
► Proven leadership experience in supervising maintenance teams within facilities, construction or infrastructure
► 5-7 years as a maintenance supervisor
► Ability to prepare and maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and daily check documentation
► Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet operational deadlines in a safety-critical environment
► Competent computer skills, including basic use of Microsoft Office applications.
► Willingness to work flexible hours, including after-hours or emergency call-outs as required
► Have a good command of English or French in both oral and written
► Good interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
► Ability to become a team player
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Diploma in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent education and related work experience
► Previous experience working in a similar environment
► Experience with budget and procurement processes
► Strong problem solving and decision making skills
► Leadership or supervisory training, with experience in mentoring or developing staff
Special Attributes:
► Must be medically and physically fit
► Must have a valid Police Clearance
► The ability to respond to any late nights or early morning hours’ emergency at the airport premises
► Valid Driver’s license
