The Organisation
The Vanuatu Australia Policing and Justice Program (VAPJP) is a collaborative initiative between the Governments of Vanuatu and Australia, aimed at strengthening law enforcement and justice institutions to improve safety, security, and access to justice.
The Position
The Justice and Community Services Project Coordinator (Legal) supports the delivery of End of Program Ooutcome (EOPO) 2 activities through coordination, implementation support and applied legal analysis. The role works under the direction of the Senior Justice and Community Services Lead to ensure justice sector activities are effectively planned, tracked and implemented, and that legal and policy inputs are translated into practical delivery outcomes.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Tertiary qualification in Law or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience in the justice sector.
► Demonstrated experience supporting legal, policy or justice-sector projects, preferably within government or development programs.
► Knowledge of the Vanuatu justice system and government processes.
► Strong written and verbal communication skills.
► Ability to work collaboratively with government counterparts and multidisciplinary teams.
► High level of cultural awareness, professionalism and integrity.
► Bislama and English language skills
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Experience working with donor-funded programs or international development partners.
► Understanding GEDSI principles and inclusive justice approaches.
► French language skills
