The Organisation
The Vanuatu Australia Infrastructure for Development (VAI4D) program is a five-year (2024-2029) investment funded by the Government of Australia through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). VAI4D supports the Government of Vanuatu’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Utilities (MIPU) to achieve sustainable and well-maintained infrastructure and services for all, through inclusive and effective partnerships.
The Position
The Engineer Roads will support the VAI4D Engineering and Technical Team to provide technical assistance and support to the VAI4D funded road activities within PWD. The Engineer Roads role is a designated local role based in Port Vila with travel to all six provinces of Vanuatu.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related field
► Knowledge and understanding of road construction activities
► Knowledge and understanding of tender and contract documentation;
► Knowledge and understanding of contract project management and administration, project development and procurement
► Understanding of and commitment to Australian aid safeguard issues, specifically child protection, gender mainstreaming, and disability inclusion
► Understanding of safety and environmental protection on the road programs;
► Police Clearance
► Driver License
