The Position

The Response Officer is responsible for implementing project activities under Save the Children’s TC Harold Response programs. The Response Officer will work collaboratively with local partners including but not only; Ministry of Health, Provincial Health Officers, Department of Agriculture, Provincial Area Administrators and Clusters to ensure program activities implemented according to the project implementation plan.


The Response Officer will support the implementation and monitoring of activities with local community, attend meetings with our local partners, document and give regular update to Managers.


As a Response Officer, you will play a significant role in Save the Children’s recovery response activities in Sanma – and your role will require to be very ‘hands on’, will rely on your ability to be a team player, leading activities with important deadlines and multiple stakeholders.


This is a Full time contract until 31 December 2021 (with likelihood of extension depending on funding and performance)


Essential Selection Criteria

► Completed High School Level 12

► Diploma in Community Services/Education/DRR an advantage

► Basic knowledge of Pack Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

► Excellent facilitation skills

► Capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances

► Commitment to the aims and principles of SC – in particular, a good understanding of the SC mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support

► Ability to plan and organise self and others to ensure the timely completion of tasks while working to deadlines

► Willing and able to travel to and work in remote communities in Sanma Province

► Community-level project implementation experience

► Experience in building capacity of stakeholders and staff with diverse background and experience

► Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports and a high level of written and spoken English and Bislama

► Experience carrying out community level activities, including liaising with community leaders


Desirable Selection Criteria

► Experience working with Cluster is preferable
