The Position

The purpose of this role is to provide ongoing, day-to-day technical and operational assistance to the Sanma Provincial Disaster Officer in the coordination of all disaster preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives for the Province. You will also be expected to work with range of stakeholders including government and other government partners.

The Disaster Ready Officer will be based in Sanma Provincial Disaster Management Office and will work closely with our partners. This is a full-time position for 12 months with the possibility of extension.

Essential Selection Criteria

► Minimum two (2) years of experience in a relevant position

► Able to work proficiently with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

► Broad working experience in Vanuatu

► Previous experience in Community Support Organisations or Non-Government Organisations

► Good reporting skills

Desirable Selection Criteria

► Experience in community mobilisation or similar activities; experience in conducting distributions is desired

► Fluency in Bislama as well as intermediate knowledge of English is required

► Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully with a wide range of people

► Drivers licence
