The Organisation

The Position

The Disaster READY Program Manager is responsible for the overall management, implementation, and coordination of Save the Children’s DFAT-funded Disaster READY program activities at the national, provincial (Sanma and Penama), school, and community levels.


Essential Selection Criteria

► Bachelor’s degree in community or international development or equivalent, and / or 5-7 years relevant work experience

► Sound understanding of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in the Vanuatu context

► Demonstrated program management skills, including budget management

► Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

► Fully conversant with Microsoft Office, with strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

► Ability to maintain strong relationships with the donor, government and other relevant stakeholders on the program

► Ability to train and support program and partner staff on specific project content and approaches to deliver high quality program activities

► Ability to contribute to the development of technical guidelines, tools, and materials to ensure field staff are adequately supported to implement high quality activities
