The Organisation

The role of the Australian High Commission is to advance the interests of Australia and Australians internationally. This involves strengthening Australia’s security, enhancing Australia’s prosperity, delivering an effective and high-quality development program and helping Australian travellers and Australians overseas.


The department provides foreign, trade and development policy advice to the Australian Government. DFAT also works with other Australian government agencies to drive coordination of Australia’s pursuit of global, regional and bilateral interests.


The Position

Under limited direction, the Finance and Administration Unit Manager will manage the financial services and general office administration of the Australian High Commission in Port Vila. The role manages the Finance Team and requires providing high-level strategy, policy and program advice to senior managers.


The position holds a key role in in the overall general administration of the High Commission, including in contributing to our crisis contingency planning and responses.


Essential Selection Criteria

► Tertiary qualifications

► Minimum of five years’ experience in finance, accounting or related sectors

► Experience in managing financial operations using the SAP system
