The Organisation

The Position
The overall mission of the Save the Children Vanuatu Support Services team is to reliably and proactively provide consistent advice and services to enable funding, implementation and monitoring of programs for the benefit of the community.
To support this mission, the position of Finance Officer will support the Finance Manager in the management and financial reporting of funds related to programs within the country office. This includes responsibility for the timely and accurate processing of all cash payments, including salaries. They will also work closely with the Program Accountant to ensure cash disbursements are in accordance with the Organisation’s internal financial controls.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Tertiary or other post-secondary qualifications in Accounting, bookkeeping or similar discipline
► 3-7 years professional experience in business accounting, financial management or similar role
► Ability to plan and organise self and others to ensure the timely completion of tasks while working in a fast paced environment and to strict deadlines
► Ability to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with others inside and outside the organization to achieve a desired outcome.
► Able to maintain sustained level of concentration in activities to ensure accuracy, quality and identify errors to be addressed.
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Strong skills and proven experience in using Microsoft Excel, Word
► Well developed verbal and written communication skills in both Bislama and English and is able to clearly communicate financial issues and requirements to different stakeholders.
► Experience with ERP systems essential, particularly ACCPAC
► Previous experience working with NGO or donor programs desirable
