The Position
The Finance Assistant will support the Manager finance in the management and financial reporting of funds related to programs within the country office. This includes the responsibility for the timely and accurate posting of all cash payment including salaries, and working with the finance team to ensure that finance duties are discharged in accordance with the Organizations' financial controls.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Proven experience as a Finance Officer or Finance Clerk
► Year 13 leaving certificate or higher
► Knowledge of book-keeping and financial transactions
► Familiar with Financial Regulations (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
► Must have knowledge of MS Office especially MS Excel and databases.
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Previous experience working with a humanitarian organisation desirable but not essential
► Well develop verbal and written communication skills in both Bislama and English
► Ability to plan and organise self and others to ensure the timely completion of tasks while working in a fast paced environment and to strict deadlines.
