The Organisation
Port Vila International School (PVIS) is an Independent School located in Vanuatu, educating students from 3-years old to Year 12. PVIS is a charitable organisation overseen by a Board of Directors. It has over 400 students and 65 staff at the school.
The Position
The Finance and Operations Manager is a complex generalist role with a strong finance focus. The role will include oversight of the business services of the School (especially financial systems and reporting), and may include administration management, human resources management, facility and property management. The Finance and Operations Manager plays a key role in leading, shaping and managing PVIS's strategic direction through the successful management of resources, governance of finances and collaboration within the school community.
Essential Selection Criteria
► A minimum of a Diploma in Accounting or Financial Management, or evidence of relevant post-secondary learning in accounting and finance with strong relevant recent work experience
► Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management or senior administration role, preferably in a medium to large organisation
► Sound work experience in accounting and financial management roles in a large organisation
► Strong demonstrated capability in the use of financial management software systems, Microsoft Office software and office IT systems
► Experience in data systems and record management
► Strong understanding and relevant experience in Human Resource Management
► Experience in facility and property management
► A working understanding of government policies and regulations as they affect the School and experience in making relevant applications
► Current valid Drivers License
