The Pacific Fusion Centre (PFC) enhances information sharing, cooperation, analysis and assessment, and expands situational awareness and capacity across the Pacific, to inform decision making and strengthen national, sub-regional and regional responses to shared security threats and vulnerabilities identified by Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Leaders in the 2018 Boe Declaration on Regional Security.
The Centre does this by delivering training and aggregating, analysing and disseminating information from multiple sources to equip Pacific decision makers with assessments to better identify and respond to the broad scope of threats identified in the Boe Declaration.
The PFC is a Pacific led, Australian Government funded initiative that reports to and takes policy direction from the PIF Forum Officials Committee through the Forum Sub-Committee on Regional Security.
Under general direction, the Executive Assistant will provide administrative services and support the Director of the PFC to ensure efficient operations of the Centre. The Executive Assistant will also undertake some financial management and provide logistics support for travel and events. Where required, the Executive Assistant will also provide support for the PFC’s public diplomacy efforts and events.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Strong capacity to provide high-level executive support
► Sound organisational skills, and an ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
► Sound written and oral communication skills
► Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications
► Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
