The Position
The role of Director of Finance is a member of the Senior Management Team in Vanuatu. The role covers a broad range of management accounting activities including monthly management accounting and reporting, regular forecasting and annual budgeting re setting. This role will involve a range of activities from standard financial management reporting to high-end strategic support including advising the leadership team. The role will ensure the robust and effective management of grants with an emphasis on cost-effective and efficient procurement for program delivery. The role will drive business and financial outcomes to meet strategic goals for the wellbeing of children in Vanuatu. The role is also expected to have an element of financial accounting and month end close process to support the Finance Team.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Accounting Qualification through Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Business Management
► A minimum of eight (8) years of accounting experience, with a particular focus on management accounting
► Computer literate with significant experience in advanced Excel and experience using accounting software packages (knowledge of the Agresso system is an added advantage)
► Strong integrity and able to maintain confidentiality
► Highly developed verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Significant experience in an environment involving high levels of change and complexity.
► Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, business and financial planning including strategic budgeting and forecasting.
► Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
► Strong commitment to providing high levels of customer service and high levels of attention to detail and quality
