The Adventist Development and Relief Agency is part of the global humanitarian organization of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that demonstrates God’s love and compassion. ADRA works with people in poverty and distress to create just and positive change through empowering partnerships and responsible action. ADRA has been working in Vanuatu since 2008, and has offices in Port Vila and Luganville.
The Position
The role of ADRA Country Director is to provide visionary and strategic leadership to ADRA Vanuatu so that it fulfils its mission as the humanitarian development agency of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Vanuatu. The Country Director ensures that the quality of ADRA Vanuatu's community development programming is participatory, innovative, and results in positive impact in the lives of all beneficiaries
Essential Selection Criteria
► - Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.- Proven skills in leadership and strategic management, specifically in the NGO context. - Demonstrated networking skills and ability to represent ADRA Vanuatu in all relations with stakeholders - Passionate about ADRA’s Purpose and Values - A collaborative attitude and be adaptable - A sound understanding of international development and the humanitarian NGO sector
► - Proven skills in leadership and strategic management, specifically in the NGO context. - Demonstrated networking skills and ability to represent ADRA Vanuatu in all relations with stakeholders - Passionate about ADRA’s Purpose and Values - A collaborative attitude and be adaptable - A sound understanding of international development and the humanitarian NGO sector
► - 5+ years experience in NGO work in Vanuatu. - A minimum of five years management experience relevant to development
► -Be willing to undergo Vanuatu Police screening -Be willing to sign and abide by Human Resource Policies including Child Protection, Safeguarding, and ADRA’s Code of Conduct
Desirable Selection Criteria
► - A member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission - Well-developed leadership and coaching capability
► - Prior experience in management role in ADRA or other NGOs - Social enterprise development experience - Be willing to pursue further professional development
► Be proficient with Zoom, and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
