The Organisation

The Vanuatu Australia Policing and Justice program (VAPJP) is a development support program which has been operating in Vanuatu since 2017, managed by Palladium International Pty Ltd in collaboration with the Australian Federal Police (AFP).


The Position

The role will work within VAPJP and link with Government of Vanuatu (GoV) and Program partners (where relevant) to profile and promote the goals, achievements, lessons and impact of VAPJP.


It will also drive the design and delivery of a coordinated community engagement and outreach work with VAPJP partners, including developing a range of communications tools.


The Communications Officer will also be responsible for management of communications tools within VAPJP, ensuring communications products are developed and distributed in a targeted and strategic manner to the various audiences.


Essential Selection Criteria

► Diploma or equivalent relevant experience

► Qualifications in communications, public diplomacy, public relations, media or related sectors

► 3 years’ experience as a Communications Officer/related field

► High standard of computer literacy

► Vanuatu Citizenship or Residency


Desirable Selection Criteria

► Proficiency in photography, videography and use of social media

► Knowledge and demonstrated use of computerised publishing and editing software

► Ability to work effectively without supervision and with a team

► Good level of written and spoken English and Bislama (French desirable), including highly developed drafting skills
