The Position

The Senior MEAL Officer is responsible for coordinating all monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) activities within Save the Children Vanuatu. Working closely with the Program Director, Program Managers, and Save the Children Australia Technical Advisors, the Senior MEAL Officer develops high quality monitoring systems and tools which enable reporting on indicators set out in project proposals, and provides ongoing oversight to program teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness of project monitoring data.

Essential Selection Criteria

► 3 years’ experience in supporting monitoring and evaluation activities for donor-funded initiatives in at least one of these sectors: health and nutrition, child protection, education, disaster risk reduction, AND/OR emergency response.

► Demonstrated experience developing and implementing different project cycle M&E processes (MEAL plans, logical frameworks, indicator performance tracking tables, reporting, etc.)

► Demonstrated experience in applying quantitative and qualitative data collection methodologies for program design and evaluation activities

► Ability to translate MEAL concepts into practical methods and tools for program teams

Desirable Selection Criteria

► Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret program data for decision making

► A high level of oral and written English, including the ability to write clear and high quality project reports

► Excellent command of MS Office, especially Excel
