The Organisation

Save the Children is the world's largest independent child rights development organisation, making a difference to the children's lives in more than 100 countries. From emergency relief to long-term development, Save the Children secures a child's right to health, education and protection. Save the Children Australia managers and implements programs in Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. We also support development programs through our global networks in selected countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. SCA in Vanuatu Program aims to achieve positive outcomes for valuable children and young people in the areas of health and well-being, child rights and child protection. We advocate on behalf of children and promote the rights of the child.

The Position

The Disaster READY Shared Services Coordinator supports and enables positive and effective collaboration between six partners (Save the Children, CARE, Oxfam, World Vision, Action Aid, CAN DO) implementing the DFAT-funded Disaster READY program in Vanuatu. The Shared Services Coordinator also leads the Disaster READY Shared Services Team, and ensures technical assistance for disability inclusion, gender equality, child protection are provided to Disaster READY partners in line with the annual Shared Services work plan.

Essential Selection Criteria

► Bachelor’s degree in community or international development or equivalent, and / or 5-7 years relevant work experience

► Sound understanding of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in the Vanuatu context

► Familiarity with and commitment to inclusive humanitarian and resilience programming and practices

► Excellent partnership management and representation skills; demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

► Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

Desirable Selection Criteria

► Fully conversant with Microsoft Office, with strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
