● Salary Vt 122,304 per month
The Organisation
WHO provides technical and financial support to the government of Vanuatu with the Aim to reduce the burden of disease, improve access to health services and to strengthen key components of the Health System in Vanuatu
The Position
WHO is seeking to recruit a suitable person on Special Service Agreement (SSA) to assist the Surveillance, Emergency Response and Research Unit, under the Directorate of Public Health of the Ministry of Health on Health Security matters and will report to the Manager of the unit, as well as to the WHO Communicable Diseases Officer.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Tertiary qualification or have obtained relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: Public Health, Disaster Risk Management, Climate Change, Animal Health, Health Sciences, Environmental Health
► Excellent computer skills and a working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, databases, Internet, search engines, and email.
► Must be competent in workshop/meeting facilitation and reporting.
► Strong planning and organizational skills, having the ability to handle multiple tasks independently with varying timelines.
► Strong interpersonal skills, working positively and sensitively with staff, community members, and constituents.
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Have a minimum 2 years of experience in disaster/ public health emergency management or similar.
► Training in Public Health, Emergencies and Management, Hazard and Vulnerability assessment, Disaster Management in a multi-sectoral context is an asset.
► Experience with government administrative and finance systems is an asset.
► Ability to work in the field under difficult environmental conditions.
