The Organisation
A key economic player in the Utilities sector in Vanuatu, UNELCO Engie is a private enterprise and the utilities concessionaire for the production, transport and supply of electricity and water. UNELCO mission as utilities provider is to ensure the uninterrupted supply of electricity to homes and businesses and to provide quality service that meets the smooth operating requirements of equipment.
The Position
This senior position is Port Vila based, full-time and reports to the Board of Directors. The Financial Controller and Economic Analyst is responsible for preparing budgets, targets, reports and financial documents, whilst carrying out analyses and drafting comments in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The role involves assisting managers to monitor expenses, coordinating the financial control team and report back to the Board of Directors.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Evidence of tertiary education in Business, Finance, Economics or similar
► Relevant professional work experience
► Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
► Demonstrated understanding of using accounting systems and office automation tools (Microsoft Excel)
► Fluent in written and spoken English and French
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Sound knowledge of French accounting Standards
► Must have strong analytical skills with attention to detail
► Be a team player with the confidence to assert themselves
► Flexible and capable of managing a varying workload to meet deadlines
