The Organisation

A key economic player in the Utilities sector in Vanuatu, UNELCO Engie is a private enterprise and the utilities concessionaire for the production, transport and supply of electricity and water. UNELCO Engie mission as utilities provider is to ensure the uninterrupted supply of electricity to homes and businesses and to provide quality service that meets the smooth operating requirements of equipment.

The Position

This senior management position is Port Vila based, full time and reports to the Managing Director. The HRM is responsible for running all aspects of the human resource function, proposing a human resource strategy and monitoring its implementation. The HRM guarantees the proper implementation of company agreements, compliance with labour laws and social cohesion, provides advice and assistance to the supervisors and coordinates all aspects of the social and human resource policy.

Essential Selection Criteria

► Evidence of tertiary education in Human Resource Management or similar

► Must have a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar, relevant management position

► Fluent in written and spoken English and French

► Have a high level of expertise in Vanuatu local labour laws and employment relations

► Strong communication and customer service skills

Desirable Selection Criteria

► High level computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite

► Sound experience with budgeting, including financial and economic management

► Experience managing and working with a team
